Urban Studies Minor

I have lived either around cities or in cities my entire life. Cities have fundamentally shaped me and provided me many opportunities and experiences that I would not have otherwise. Since my time at the Harvard Summer School Program, where I took an urban studies/planning course, I have been keenly interesting in pursuing urban studies in some way.

At Trinity, I am a part of the Cities Gateway. I have taken Introduction to Urban Studies, History of the City, Hartford to World Cities and American City. Through my time in the gateway, I have also gotten to know Hartford much better which has been integral to my college experience. I am excited to continue exploring urban studies courses in the next few years.

Economics and urban studies are so closely intertwined and I am interested to see what work I can do combining the two areas of study. At my time here I think I will look more into this cross section to deepen my understanding of both of them individually and together since cities become increasingly prevalent in our world.
